Ways of receiving the birth certificate and obtaining the newborn's Social Security Number (AMKA)
You will receive your newborn’s Social Security Number (AMKA) by SMS on your mobile and it will also be written on the Birth Certificate.
The Birth Certificate may be downloaded via www.gov.gr or obtained from a Citizens' Service Center (KEP) upon request or from the Registry office of Amaroussion (Monday to Thursday, 08:00-16:00).
The Registry office of Amaroussion is open by appointment for any other services (e.g. name-giving, recognition of child, etc.).
You will receive your newborn’s Social Security Number (AMKA) by SMS and it will be written on the Birth Certificate.
You must immediately forward it to IASO before being discharged, so that you may be entitled to use EOPYY, your social insurance fund. Especially if the newborn is admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or a ward to undergo surgery, you must provide their AMKA prior to the newborn’s admission, so the insurance fund – EOPYY may be utilized.- Email: [email protected]
