In 2006, IASO’s Central Laboratories were certified according to the International Standard ISO 9001:2000 for their applied Quality Management System and later according to the International Standards ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 9001:2015 granted by the eminent and internationally recognized Certification Body TÜV Hellas (a subsidiary of the German TÜV NORD GROUP).

At the end of 2016, IASO Group’s Hospitals (IASO, IASO Children’s Hospital, IASO Thessalias), in their continuous effort to provide high quality healthcare services, were all, certified for all the provided services and departments (medical, nursing, supplementary), according to the International Standard ISO 9001:2015 for the Quality Management Systems developed by IASO Group (IASO, IASO Children’s Hospital, IASO Thessalias). This certification followed the former one according to the International Standard ISO 9001:2008 since 2012. At the end of 2018 and of 2021, their recertifications were also finalized, according to ISO 9001:2015. The aforementioned certifications were awarded following thorough audit by TÜV Hellas (a subsidiary of the German TÜV NORD GROUP). During the audits conducted in 2012 until today as well as intermediate surveillance audits performed from 2013, the high quality of healthcare services provided by the Hospitals of the Group was confirmed on every occasion.

In the middle of 2016 following the certification of 2013, all the Hospitals of IASO Group (IASO, IASO Children’s Hospital, IASO Thessalias), were recertified following the 3years certification cycle of the Standard «Quality in International Patient Care», by the international Medical Tourism Certification Body “TEMOS International”, with headquarters in Germany, for the provision of high quality services and the state-of-the-art infrastructure. The certifications were awarded subsequent to the audit conducted by the “TEMOS” international audit teams. At the end of 2018 the IVF Medically Assisted Reproduction Unit of IASO, was recertified following the 3years certification cycle of the Standard «Quality in International Reproductive Care» following the certification of 2015.

“TEMOS International”, also represented in our country, focuses on international patient management and certifies the patient management and safety procedures based on the observance of the best practices and the conformance with international insurance companies’ requirements, European insurance funds and other involved institutions operating in the greater market of medical tourism and cross-border healthcare.

At the middle of 2019 follοwing the certifications of 2013 and 2016, the hospitals of IASO Group (IASO, IASO Children’s Hospital, IASO Thessalias), were accredited according to the 3years accreditation cycle of the Accreditation Standard «Quality in International Patient Care» later on «Quality in Medical Care», by the international Accreditation Body “TEMOS International”. After the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019, “TEMOS International” develops accreditations systems instead of certifications of medical tourism. The hospitals IASO, IASO Children’s Hospital, IASO Thessalias, are among the first hospitals in Greece that received this accreditation.

In the middle of 2022 all IASO Group’s Hospitals (IASO General-Maternity hospital, IASO Children’s Hospital, IASO Thessalias), were accredited anew according to the Accreditation Standard “Quality in Medical Care”, following the audit conducted by the international Accreditation Body “TEMOS International” and once more the top-quality healthcare services provided by all the Clinics of the Group were officially confirmed.

This re-Accreditation is of reinforced significance for the hospitals of IASO Group because of the expansion of the accreditation standards of TEMOS International in a wide spectrum of activities and procedures of the healthcare providers as the specified accreditation programs o TEMOS International are validated and approved by ISQUA EEA (International Society of Quality in Healthcare, External Evaluation Association). ISQUA is the world-renowned well-known Accreditation Body, as the “accreditor of the accreditors” in healthcare provision.

All the hospitals of IASO Group are certified according HACCP (Standards of IASO 22000) for the provision of catering services.

 

At the end of 2013, all the Hospitals of IASO Group were proclaimed and officially recommended by the Diplomatic Council (DC) as “Best Hospitals Worldwide 2014”. The distinction was also renewed for years 2015, 2016 and for 2017 and later on for 2018 to 2022, the distinction was renewed as “Preferred Partner Hospital”, emphasizing the preference to the hospitals of the Group. The Diplomatic Council, based in Hague, is a global think tank organization, comprising world-renowned members from the areas of diplomacy, politics, industry, art and sports. The said accreditation follows the certification and accreditations of IASO Group by the Accreditation Body “TEMOS International” for the quality in medical care and by “TÜV Hellas” (TÜV NORD GROUP) according to ISO 9001:2015 9001:2008 for the high standard services and the ultra modern infrastructure.

IASO Group, always a step ahead, based on its high quality certification and accreditations for all its Hospitals (IASO General and Maternity hospital, IASO Children’s Hospital, IASO Thessalias) according to ISO 9001:2015 and its whole effort in safeguarding quality -now certified by TEMOS international and the Diplomatic Council for all its Hospitals- signals the expansion of its activities in the international market of Medical Tourism.

At the end of 2016, the two Medically Assisted Reproduction Units of IASO (Institute of Life) and of IASO Thessalias, were certified according to the specialized Standard EN 15224:2012 and since 2018 according to its’ new edition EN 15224:2016 (Greek ELOT EN 15224:2017). It is a Standard that focuses in healthcare provision, giving emphasis to the quality of the provision of care that the patient receives. At the end of 2019 the two IVF Units were recertified. The IASO and IASO Thessalias Hospitals, are two of the first hospitals in Greece that are certified according to this Standard for their IVF Units. This certification is also a legal obligation (Presidential Decree 10/2016, Ministrial Decision 6901/2015), for the Medically Assisted Reproduction Units and the connected Cryopreservation Banks. It is noted that this certification, in addition to the former official audit that was conducted in 2016, is also obligatory according to the aforementioned legal obligations documents for the licensing of the IVF Units. The licensing has already been finalised for both of the IVF Units of the Group and it is renewed in a 3years basis.

Since 2007, IASO Group’s Medstem Services S.A. Stem Cells Bank operates under the accreditation awarded by AABB (former American Association of Blood Banks), which is renewed every 2 years. Within the framework of quality control process for accreditation purposes, AABB delegates biannually inspect the laboratories of the bank and certify the performance of “IASO Group Stem Cells Bank” on a medical, technical and administrative level. During the audit, the quality system and the operations of the bank are thoroughly investigated and the award of the accreditation certificate constitutes the evidence that the bank covers or exceeds the requirements of the accreditation standards. In July 2021, the accreditation was renewed.

The Molecular Diagnosis Lab within the IASO Central Laboratories has been accredited by the National Accreditation System (ESYD) according to ISO 15189:2012, for the following real-time PCR tests:

• Detection of SARS-CoV-2
• Detection of human papillomavirus (HPV)
• Detection and quantitative DNA determination of human cytomegalovirus (HCMV)
• Detection of influenza types A and B, and subtype A (Η1Ν1)

At the end of 2021, IASO Children’s Hospital constitutes the only private pediatric clinic in Greece to have won a gold award for its operation under the standards of the Child Friendly Healthcare Initiative which recognizes its commitment towards children’s rights and the quality of care. Child-friendly healthcare is “the best possible‟ health care provided by health professionals working together in order to minimize the fear, anxiety and suffering of children and their families, by supporting and practicing the 12 “Standards” of Child-Friendly Healthcare (Child Friendly Healthcare Initiative).
