Internal Medicine ClinicsInfectious Diseases Department The Department aims to provide individualized diagnosis and hospitalization, using the most modern diagnostic methods available at IASO General Clinic.
The IASO Infectious Diseases Department is staffed with experienced personnel and works closely with doctors of other medical specialties.
The cases hospitalized and treated at the Clinic involve the entire range of Internal Medicine.
In addition, the Internal Medicine / Infectious Diseases Clinic is called to consult on cases of other specialties that involve infections from various pathogens, but also other diagnosed problems.
Both in a clinical and an outpatient capacity, the Clinic monitors patients with chronic, recurrent or complex infections, in cooperation with other departments if necessary.
These include:
- Recurrent or complex infections of the genitourinary system
- Soft tissue infections
- Postoperative infections
- Chronic bone and joint infections
- Endovascular graft infections
- Infections in immunocompromised patients
- Special infections (e.g. brucellosis, malaria, hepatitis, etc.)
- Infections during pregnancy
On an outpatient basis, the Department provides consultation on prevention and treatment of infectious diseases and on travel medicine issues by appointment.
The Department’s activities include participating in the hospital staff’s continuous education program on hospital infection prevention issues and participating in relevant conferences.
In the area of research, the Department works with Greek and international centers.
