Cardiac Electrophysiology - Cardiac rhythm management device implantation

The Heart Rhythm Center is a model center for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and the management of implantable cardiac devices. Starting its operation at IASO General Clinic, from 2021, it is ranked, based on national registries, in the leading electrophysiological laboratories of the country. The Electrophysiological Laboratory has the most advanced technical equipment with all the contemporary electrophysiology mapping and treatment systems. The experienced cardiologists – electrophysiologists of the Center, are involved in the management of complex cases of ablation for cardiac arrhythmias (atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardias, complex atrial tachycardias, ventricular tachycardia), as well as numerous implantations of cardiac devices (pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, biventricular pacing). The Heart Rhythm Center manages a modern outpatient arrhythmia clinic, as well as a pacemaker-defibrillator check-up clinic.

Clinical Cardiology

The clinical assessment of the patient is the first step in the diagnosis and contemporary treatment of patients with cardiac problems. At the 3^rd Cardiology Clinic, we offer intensive support for both patients with both cardiac and other conditions that require cardiac monitoring. Particular importance is given to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, which is the best way to avoid further unpleasant consequences. The 3^rd Cardiology Clinic supports the implementation of modern echocardiographic techniques (Stress echo, transesophageal echocardiography) in collaboration with the Echocardiography Department of IASO General Clinic. Cardio-Oncology is a special field within the clinical scope of the 3^rd Cardiology Clinic. Cardio-Oncology is the subspecialty of cardiology focusing on the cardiovascular evaluation and management of oncological patients before, during and after cancer treatment, aiming for the prevention, early diagnosis and effective treatment of cardiovascular complications of cancer treatment, but also of possible coexisting cardiovascular disease.

Interventional Cardiology

At the 3^rd Cardiology Clinic, all modern interventional methods for treating the manifestations of coronary artery disease (coronary angiography, selective or primary angioplasty) are carried out, as well as surgical procedures for structural heart diseases (atrial septal defect, left atrial appendage closure).

Research and Training

The 3^rd Cardiology Clinic has significant research and educational purpose in key areas of clinical research in the field of Cardiovascular Medicine and especially in electrophysiology, producing internationally acclaimed research work. The Heart Rhythm Center develops innovative training activities for young cardiologists from public and university health institutions, both in our country and abroad. The Cardiologists of the Clinic are often called for proctoring, as consultants, in electrophysiology procedures, both in Greece and abroad.
