Cold cap therapy for the prevention of alopecia

Cold Caps are the most effective treatment to prevent hair loss, which is caused by the medication used in chemotherapy.

The effect of the drug on the hair follicles results in their gradual inactivation which leads to hair loss. Using the cap lowers the temperature on the scalp, constricts the blood vessels and reduces blood circulation, allowing a very small amount of the drug to pass into the hair follicles and preventing hair loss.

Alopecia is the most obvious side effect of anticancer therapy, but also of radiation therapy for the head, which creates a significant psychological problem to the patient. By using the cold caps, changes in the patient's external appearance can be avoided, the signs of chemotherapy not being visible.

Cold Caps are manufactured with strict medical specifications and disinfected after each use.

Their characteristics are:

  • They are entirely made by antitoxic and antiallergenic materials.
  • They are easy to use.
  • They fit comfortably on all head sizes.
  • They do not limit the patient's mobility.
  • There is no need to take any medication.
  • They do not cause headaches to the patient.
