The Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology Department provides consultation, monitoring and/or treatment of HPV-related lesions in the area of the lower genital tract (vagina, cervix or vulva).
Colposcopy is a specialized, painless examination of the cervix which is performed when the Pap test shows lesions or when the HPV molecular test for the detection of human papillomaviruses shows high-risk HPV strains, as well as for monitoring women after the application of treatments (Laser – Loop – Cryopexia), which takes place at regular intervals. The test lasts for 5-10 minutes and it is painless and bloodless.
The Cervical Pathology Department is equipped with a state-of-the-art colposcope for video colposcopy, while the medical staff has the necessary certification in colposcopy and may provide suitable guidance in terms of monitoring and/or treatment.
