Bronchoscopy Unit

The bronchoscopy laboratory operates in a specially designed space, where the medical equipment, with the special rotating arms, offers better ergonomics and flexibility during the bronchoscopy. 

Bronchoscopies are performed by Pulmonologists specialized in diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopies, with excellent scientific training and extensive experience. 

The Bronchology laboratory provides the possibility of bronchoscopies and conducting:

• endobronchial biopsies
• transbronchial biopsies
• bronchial washing
• bronchial brushing
• bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL)

In fact, in patients with specific indications (mediastinal lymphadenopathy), endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS-TBNA) is used to obtain cytological material for examination, with the aim of diagnosing/staging lung tumors or diagnosing other pulmonary diseases.
