2410 996000 The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of IASO Thessalias provides high-quality basic as well as specialized rehabilitation services in their natural environment, as an integral medical service in the most modern private hospital in the country, offering the patient the advantage of a holistic hospital approach, relieving him of the stress of any transfer or conveyance.
The initial rehabilitation services provided will be mainly oriented towards the acute phase of rehabilitation for inpatients undergoing:
- Orthopedic operations such as total hip arthroplasty, total knee arthroplasty, etc., with the aim of managing acute postoperative pain and their immediate mobilization
- Gynecological and obstetric procedures such as surgery/caesarean section, aiming at pain management, speeding up the healing of the surgical wound
- Cardiac surgery, with the aim of strengthening the cardiorespiratory function
- Oncological conditions, with the aim of managing therapeutic complications (radiation dermatitis, lymphedema) and improving their quality of life.
In addition, two innovative special departments will operate:
- The Pelvic Rehabilitation Department, aiming at managing pain in the perinatal area and strengthening the weak pelvic floor,
- The wound healing and diabetic foot Department, with the aim of accelerating the healing of surgical wounds, decubitus ulcers, diabetic ulcers,
as well as two outpatient treatment offices
- Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Office, providing detailed clinical medical examinations by the physiatrist, recommendations for imaging examinations, functional evaluations, with the aim of pain management and maximizing the functionality of the patient suffering from injuries and conditions of the muscles, bones, joints and nerves.
- Spasticity Management Office, with the aim of managing spasticity with injections of botulinum toxin (BOTOX) under electromyographic guidance, in patients suffering from stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, cervical dystonia.
