Central Laboratories

The Central Laboratories of the IASO Thessalias Clinic are fully equipped and staffed. They operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and are able to support for both inpatients and outpatients all the modern laboratory tests that concern:

• Microbiology
• Biochemistry
• Immunology
• Hormonology
• Hematology
• Molecular Biology

In regard to outpatients in particular, the Central Laboratories of IASO Thessalias provide their services at any time or day.

In the Central Laboratories, there is a Blood Donation Department operating on a 24-hour basis (in collaboration with the General Hospital of Larissa), which has a department for determining blood groups and blood unit crossmatching, for patients who are hospitalized in the departments of IASO Thessalias (Obstetrics, Pathological, Surgical etc.). The Blood Donation Department takes care of the safe transport and screening of donated blood units, ensuring transfusions with the least possible inconvenience for the patients' relatives.

The aforementioned departments are staffed by Doctors, Biologists - Biochemists and Manufacturing Technologists, with excellent scientific training and extensive experience in their field, who are always willing to provide their services and any information, to anyone interested.

The equipment of the Central Laboratories includes a series of state-of-the-art analyzers of the latest technology, which ensure the continuous, fast and reliable production of results. Their operation is checked daily with internal quality controls, as well as with external ones, at intervals determined by various international quality assurance systems (e.g., ISO, etc.). According to those standards, the operation of the entire laboratory has been organized from the beginning.
