Gastric Botox, the modern, non-invasive weight-loss method for instant results
Gastric botox is a modern, safe, cost-efficient and effective non-invasive technique for weight loss and treatment of all problems arising from obesity, performed by the specialized team of doctors of the 2nd Gastroenterology - Hepatology Clinic.
Basic information:
- Through a simple gastroscopy, under sedation and not general anesthesia, injection of botulinum toxin type A onto various sites of the gastric mucosa is performed.
- This toxin causes a reduction in gastric motility and a drop in the hormones controlling appetite. As a result, within 24 to 48 hours of the operation, hunger is delayed during the day and the patient experiences prolonged satiety that lasts for 6 months. No pain, nausea or any other unpleasant feeling is caused.
- Gastric botox has no contraindications, nor complications, as long as it is performed by specialized gastroenterologists.
- It does not require hospitalization and the duration of the overall procedure lasts no more than 30 minutes.
- The patient can return to work 1 hour after the procedure, without any symptoms.
- Our comprehensive program includes a six-month follow-up with regular monthly dietary guidance, fat measurement and body composition analysis, with the aim of personalizing the instructions in order to optimize the final result.
It is addressed to:
- Overweight patients with a body mass index (BMI) of 25-39.9, with or without concomitant diseases, such as the metabolic syndrome, diabetes, arterial hypertension and sleep apnea.
- Obese patients with a BMI > 39, who cannot or do not wish to undergo bariatric surgery.
- Patients who have already undergone bariatric surgery, such as sleeve gastrectomy, gastric banding, and have regained the excess weight.
- Women who wish to lose the excess weight after pregnancy.
- People who wish to lose weight quickly for professional reasons.
- Those who have not managed to comply with diets.
The advantages of gastric botox:
- It is a completely safe method, with no complications or side effects.
- No hospitalization required.
- No pain, nausea or any other unpleasant feeling is caused.
- Does not require general anesthesia.
- Immediate return to daily activities.
- It can be repeated after 4 to 6 months.
- It does not cause permanent changes in the digestive tract.
How much the resulting weight loss is:
The resulting weight loss is from 12kg to 20kg, on average.
However, patients who combine gastric botox with diet and exercise can lose even more weight.
