IASO - IASO General Clinic: Α classical music concert for the first time, on the occasion of Mother's Day
Οn the occasion of Mother's Day, IASO and IASO General Clinic break new ground by organizing a classical music concert for the first time, to honor all mothers, in a celebration full of melodies!
The renowned piano soloist Ms. Evgenia Papadimas, together with Mr. Apollon Grammatikopoulos, the first chair violinist of the Athens State Orchestra and Mr. Isidoros Sideris, distinguished Cellist of the Athens State Orchestra, will take us on a journey through the music of internationally acclaimed classical music composers such as J. Halvorsen, J.S. Bach, S. Rachmaninoff and A. Piazzola. The works of the great composers will be brought to life by the magical fingers of Ms. Evgenia Papadimas and the notes will fill the outdoor area of our hospital.

Evgenia Papadimas was born in Athens. She began her studies at the age of five and at the age of eleven she gave her first solo recital at an event of the Association of Greek Writers, to a warm reception and reviews from the press. Since July 1993, she has been awarded a diploma with Professor Max Hallecker (Honorary Professor at the Gratz Music Academy). At the same time, she attended orchestra conducting lessons with conductor Loukas Karitinos. In the academic years 1993-94, she studied under Christopher Elton (Royal Academy of Music, London). In 1995, she continued her postgraduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music, in the AIS course with Professor James Gibb. In the same year, she was distinguished by the 1st Panhellenic Piano Award with "unanimously excellent" at the Panhellenic Competition of the Youth Choir & Orchestra (Χ.Ο.Ν.) organized by the Ministry of Culture. In 1997, she earned a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) for a Master’s Degree at City University of London on "Music in Ancient Greece". She performs in concerts and recitals in venues such as the Athens Concert Hall, the Theocharakis Foundation National Opera, Leyton House, John Smith Square, Wigmore Hall, South Bank, St. Martins in the Fields, the Academy of Music of Tirana, LISZT Academy (Budapest), St. Peter's (Zurich), Theater Rigiblick (Zurich), Kulturcasino (Bern-Switzerland), Istanbul International Art Fair - Bosporus, Dusseldorf International Art Fair, Kioi Hall Chamber Orchestra Tokyo (Japan), Old Town Hall (Rathaus), Vienna to San Giovanni Rotondo Festival (Italy). She has performed with orchestras, such as: Radio & Television Orchestra of Japan (NHK), Guildhall Symphony Orchestra, Young Choir de Monaco, Worthing Philharmonic Orchestra, Athens State Orchestra, Thessaloniki Symphony Orchestra, Patra Symphony Orchestra. Evgenia has collaborated with the Conductors Lukas Karitinos, Michalis Economou, Alkis Baltas, Andreas Pylarinos, Anastasios Symeonidis, Nikos Athineos, Alan Hazeldine, Saoulious Sodetskis, Atkuki Iyenda, Robin Page, Martin Andre, Andreas Botini, Svilen Simeonov, Christoph Poppen. She has recorded for BBC RADIO 4, at the "The Fountain overflowed" show, for BBC RADIO 3, the world premiere of Nocturne with Sir Patrick Moore's piano compositions, for ERT’s Third Programme, pre-classical and romantic music. She appeared on BBC 1 (TV), at Barbican-London in a Live Masterclass for "The One Show". In September 2010, Evgenia recorded the album "Atmosphera", in London, for Sony Classical.
Apollon Grammatikopoulos was born in Athens, in 1972, and comes from a musical family. He began studying violin at the Athens Conservatoire with Pantelis Despotidis. During his studies, he received numerous awards for his achievements. In 1991, he graduated with high distinction. As a scholarship holder from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), he continued his studies in Austria and Germany, alongside S. Kafantaris, C. Polyzoidis and W. Rademacher, while participating in seminars of Lukas David, Lydia Mordkovic, Zakhar Bron και Ferenc Halasz. He earned the master’s degree “Künstlerische Ausbildung” with Distinction from the Trossingen University of Music. He has been honored at the “Alpe Adria” international violin competition in Gorizia, Italy and was warmly received by the press for the concerts that followed in venues around Italy, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia. He regularly appears as a soloist, collaborating with ensembles and symphony orchestras from Greece and abroad (Athens State Orchestra, Camerata, ERT Symphony Orchestra, Athens Philharmonia Orchestra, Athens Municipality Symphony Orchestra, Volos Symphony Orchestra, Soloists of Patras, Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, Lucas David ensemble, orchestra of the Alpe-Adria contest, Royal Danish Orchestra ensemble, etc.). He is a founding member of the Athens String Quartet, member of Trio Arte and has frequently collaborated with distinguished musicians, appearing in concerts and international festivals in Greece and abroad (Majorca Festival, Armonie della Sera Festival, International Santorini Music Festival, Cyclades Festival, L. David Festival in Peru). He is a violin professor on a regular basis. He was a violin professor at the Athens Conservatoire, as well as a violin professor and dean of the strings section of the Volos Conservatory. He is frequently invited to teach at summer seminars, in addition to being a member of the jury at well-known music competitions. Nowadays, he teaches at the “Orfeio” Conservatory of Athens. Since 2003, he has been the first chair violinist of the Athens State Orchestra, while also being a concertmaster regularly.
Isidoros Sideris was born in Athens, in 1975. He began his musical studies with Nikos Kotzias and continued at the Athens Conservatoire with Eleftherios Papastavrou and Byron Fidetzis, from which he earned his Cello Diploma with the highest degree and with the First Prize, unanimously. Furthermore, he studied at the Musikhochschule Detmold abt. Dortmund (Germany), at the postgraduate department of arts (Künstlerische Ausbildung), with Prof. Gotthard Popp, receiving his Cello Diploma in 2001, achieving an Excellent grade. He has participated in many international cello and chamber music masterclasses both in Greece and abroad and his teachers have been, among others, David Geringas, Steven Isserlis, Wolfgang Boettcher, Alexander Baillie, Maria Kliegel, Marcio Carneiro, Truls Svane, while also participating at the International Ensemble Modern Academy. He has appeared as a soloist with the Athens State Orchestra, the Athens Concert Hall, and with the Santorini Festival Chamber Orchestra and has recorded for the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) and the Italian and Vatican radio stations. He has performed at important festivals (International music festivals of Nafplio, Cyclades, Santorini, Heraklion, Rethymno, Mykonos, Paxos, Esslingen in Germany, Armonie della Sera, Alba and Bergamo Scienza in Italy, etc.) and in chamber music concerts in Greece, Italy, France, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Romania and the USA. Isidoros Sideris is a founding member of the Athens String Quartet and a regular member of the Athens State Orchestra since 2001, in which he is a second chair since 2011, while also being a first chair cellist from 2013 to 2015.
