IASO General Clinic: Robotic Total Knee Arthroplasty
Case of robotic knee arthroplasty. The total arthroplasty surgery was performed on a patient with severe post-traumatic knee arthritis and significant deformity, using the CORI robotic system.
The surgery was performed by Mr. Christos Giannakopoulos, Orthopedic Surgeon, Director of the 1st Orthopedics Clinic, Head of the Specialized Shoulder and Sports Injury Treatment Office, IASO General Clinic.
By using the robotic system, excellent positioning of total arthroplasty implants is achieved, after a procedure of intraoperative mapping and 3D scanning of the knee. The mobilization of the patient took place on the same day and they were discharged from the clinic on the following day.
With robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty, greater surgical precision, proper implant positioning, and mid-term improved clinical effectiveness are achieved.
