May is the month dedicated to the awareness and information for the early diagnosis of melanoma and skin cancer in general.
IASO General Clinic offers a free of charge clinical assessment of moles by a specialized Dermatologist at the Dermatology Outpatient Department on Monday 23/05/2022 to the first 20 individuals who will call to book their appointment, up to Friday 20/05/2022 at the phone numbers: 210 6383090-1, from 09:00 to 15:00
Cutaneous melanoma is one of the most common skin cancers in young adults, the average age of its diagnosis being 65, but it is not uncommon for it to occur even in people under 30. People with a family history of melanoma, with numerous, large or irregularly shaped moles, as well as those who are frequently exposed to sunlight or UV devices, are considered to be at high risk for developing skin melanoma and should get a preventive screening by a dermatologist. A special mention on light-skinned people and those who live in Mediterranean countries or countries with long periods of sunlight on an annual basis is also made.
Do not neglect your annual preventive checkup!
