IASO: European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week #staysafefromHPV
On the occasion of the European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week, IASO is using the hashtag #staysafefromHPV to raise awareness and inform the public that the annual gynecologic check-up has saved millions of women to date from cervical cancer, which is caused by persistent and chronic HPV infection.
In addition, it is offering the following check-up packages for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) at special rates.
1. HPV Infection Testing for detection and typing of viral DNA at the special rate of €80
2. Active Chronic HPV Infection Testing for detection of high-risk mRNA viral oncoproteins at the special rate of €60
3. STD Check-up at the special rate of €30: Includes testing for chlamydia, ureaplasma and mycoplasma
4. STD Check-up Plus at the special rate of €85: Includes testing for chlamydia, ureaplasma, mycoplasma, gonorrhea, haemophilus, herpes, syphilis and trichomonas
>The tests are performed on level -2 of IASO, Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00, without an appointment, and the offer is valid until 28/02/2022.
IASO uses the PCR method to detect STDs, which is the most modern method globally, with incomparably higher diagnostic accuracy than conventional cultures.
The human papillomavirus (HPV) has been proven to be predominantly sexually transmitted, and more than 80% of sexually active women have come into contact with it at some stage.
Regular check-ups using modern methods, combined with the vaccine, which still has a low population coverage, provide hope that the deaths from cervical cancer, which currently affects around 25,000 women every year just in Europe, will be drastically reduced.
The annual gynecologic check-up in women over 20 includes a Pap test and other special exams, such as HPV and STD testing.
>The annual check-up has saved millions of women to date!
