Millimeter-precision radiation with new Elekta Versa HD™ for stereotactic radiosurgery / radiotherapy applications at the Radiation Oncology Center

It has recently added a Versa HD™ linear accelerator by Elekta to its arsenal, which has been specially designed to apply techniques that require extreme accuracy in radiation administration, such as Stereotactic RadioSurgery (SRS) for the brain, Fractionated Stereotactic RadioTherapy (FSRT) for intracranial tumors and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) for extracranial ones.
Versa HD™, with its high definition dynamic radiosurgery (HDRS), coupled with its innovative imaging and examination of the patient's internal organ movement, provides extreme accuracy when applying such techniques, ensuring they effectively treat a wide range of neoplasms.
The Versa HD™ 4D guided imaging treatment (symmetry), combined with the use of the Active Breath Coordinator (ABC) system, makes it possible to the administer Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) to patients with inoperable early-stage lung cancer, escalating the radiation dose and minimizing treatment toxicity.
