The IASO Group By your Side comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility program undertakes initiatives, supporting society and caring for the environment. With a deep sense of responsibility, By your Side listens to the needs of society and responds with courtesy and friendliness, interest and attention, professionalism, commitment and care, dignity and respect.

It is a comprehensive program with quite extensive work to show since 2015, and actions that vary every year, depending on the existing needs, as well as the number of associated companies / NGOs / associations, which keeps increasing, currently exceeding 25 partnerships. For its lifetime achievement, the program has already received 10 awards, 2 of which are Gold. This year, the actions of the By your Side program for 2020 in the Society pillar were awarded at the Bravo Sustainability Dialogues & Awards 2021.

Last year was unique because, despite the pandemic restrictions, we were inspired to set the bar higher. And this is exactly what we did. Some of the actions which have already stood out this year include:

• Standing by Symplefsi: The By your Side program joined Symplefsi for the 2021 Crossing, heading to nine small remote islands: Sikinos, Irakleia, Astypalaia, Nisyros, Fournoi, Thymaina, Levitha, Kinaros and Donousa, from Thursday 13 May to Sunday 23 May 2021. During the Crossing, 280 check-ups and 80 pap tests were performed on the residents of the islands, which were then analyzed at the Central Laboratories and the Cytology Department of IASO. Furthermore, the IASO Group doctors who voluntarily participated in the Crossing’s medical team were Dimitris Dardamanis, MD, MSc, General Surgeon, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at IASO; Nikos Karamalikis, Obstetrician/Gynecologist and IASO Associate; and Evdokia Papacharalampous, Pediatric Ophthalmologist and Scientific Associate of the IASO Children’s Hospital Ophthalmology Department. They performed medical tests on the residents of the islands as well as COVID-19 vaccinations, with Symplefsi participating in the Blue Freedom program.
• Supporting the Save your Hood movement, where the IASO Group Corporate Social Responsibility team contributed to the collection of 500,000 lt of garbage, on the occasion of the World Environment Week, 31 May-6 June 2021. Through this operation, 1,000 lt of garbage were collected along Galatsi Ring Road.
• Supporting the Ark of the World. IASO Group is a continuous supporter of the Ark and assists in Father Antonios’ work. We offer free COVID-19 tests all year long for the personnel of the three shelters in Athens, where 200 COVID-19 tests have already been performed. Furthermore, we continue to provide quality healthcare services with pro-bono surgical procedures, free check-ups and free consultations for the children of the Ark, to ensure that their health is in the best of hands at IASO Children’s Hospital.
