IASO’s 2nd Breast Clinic headed by Mr. Grigorios Xepapadakis, MD, PhD, Breast Surgeon, Director of the Clinic, organizes an Online Scientific Speech with topic “Psychotherapeutic management of Gynecologic Cancer Patients”, on Saturday 21st November 2020 at 11:00.

The guest speaker will be Mr. Savvas Savvopoulos, Psychiatrist – Psychoanalyst, Doctorate holder of the School of Medicine of the University of Geneva (PhD), Training psychoanalyst at the Hellenic Psychoanalytic Society, Member of the International Psychoanalytic Association, Member of Paris Psychosomatic Institute – Pierre MARTY. The coordinators will be Mr. Grigorios Xepapadakis, MD, PhD, Breast Surgeon, Director of IASO’s 2nd Breast Clinic and Ms Iliana Goula, Clinical Psychologist – Psychotherapist, Partner of IASO’s 2nd Breast Clinic.

The purpose of this scientific event is the provision of information to Doctors/ Partners and the public on mood swings and the doctor-patient relationship of the specific group, as well as therapeutic approaches in both personal and group level.

Mr. Savvopoulos studied Medicine in the University of Athens, was specialized as psychiatrist in Geneva and worked for eleven years as Resident Doctor in Psychiatry and as a Registrar in the university clinics of Bel Air and Hôpital Cantonal Universitaire des Genéve, as well as in nonhospital university psychiatric services.

His research and training work in clinic-anatomical correlation in Huntington disease, psychoanalysis and psychosomatics is remarkable.

Psychosomatics is a field where he works for more than thirty years. His most well-known work – the fruit of his work as a psychoanalyst - psychotherapist of cancer patients and as a supervisor oncologic and psych-oncologic services in this field – is his book “Seven Fairy Tales of Life”. He has also developed important work in psychoanalysis, known by his book “Τheofagia” (The Eating of the Gods).

His essays and projects have been published in books, in international and Greek psychoanalysis and psychosomatics magazines and have been announced in the relevant conferences.

At IASO’s Breast Center a remarkable training work is underway, both in theoretical and practical (operative, surgical) level, by means of organizing Scientific Speeches and Conferences aiming the continuous education and training of the Doctors and Partners of the Clinic.
