History Professor Maria Efthymiou to Give Talk at IASO
IASO is honored to host Ms. Maria Efthymiou, History Professor at the Faculty of History & Archeology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, a recognized individual, with numerous publications to her name and multifaceted academic activities.
Ms. Efthymiou will give a talk on “The Main Events over 4,000 Years of Recorded History of Hellenism” at the IASO Events Hall in Marousi on Friday 17 January 2020, at 12:30 pm.
Ms. Efthymiou studied History and Archeology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and continued with postgraduate studies at the University of Sorbonne. In 1984 she concluded her PhD dissertation. From 1977 to 1979, she worked as a researcher at the Peloponnesian Folklore Foundation. She has been teaching at the Faculty of History & Archeology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, since 1981.
She has also taught at the University of Thessaly and the Faculty of Communication & Media Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has written and edited five History books, as well as more than 70 articles in History journals. She has been giving free public talks across Greece since 2006.
In December 2013, she received the Vassilis Xanthopoulos-Stephanos Pnevmatikos Award for Excellence in Academic Teaching.
The talk is open to the public and admission is free.
