A unique offer by IASO’s Department of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics
Prompted by the European Day of Speech and Language Therapy on 6 March 2015, IASO Children’s Hospital offers you the opportunity to visit a Specialist Auxologist (Developmental Pediatrician) at the nominal price of 50 Euros. Our aim is to advocate the parents and raise their awareness on the speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) their child may encounter.
Children may encounter:
- Articulation disorders
- Speech retardation
- Speech fluency disorder (stuttering)
- Accompanying cognitive impairments
IASO’s Department of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics provides diagnosis and specialist intervention in children with:
- Speech retardation
- Language impairment
- Behavioral disorders
- Autism spectrum disorders
- Attention deficit and/or hyperactivity disorder
- Autism spectrum disorders
- Motor skill disorders
- Developmental problems in preterm children
- Developmental problems in children with chronic neurological diseases
- Gifted children
The Specialist Auxologist, Scientifically responsible for the Department, heads a team of specialists who perform a diagnostic approach on the child and his/her family.
The team of specialists comprises:
- A speech and language therapist
- An occupational therapist
- A specialist educator
- A psychologist
Depending on the case, referrals are made to pediatric specialists such as: Pediatric Neurologist, Pediatric Psychiatrist and Clinical Geneticist.
The main objective of the Department is to address and support both children and their families and to provide appropriate management with a team of experienced specialists in order to ensure comprehensive and effective diagnosis and treatment.
