12th European Seminar of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology
The need for ‘hands-on’ practice for gynecologists in managing patients with HPV-associated lesions is today greater than ever. In this effort, and within the framework of the 12th European Seminar of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, the ‘hands-on’ part of the seminar will be held at IASO, 37-39 Kifissias Avenue, Maroussi, on Thursday 12 June. The theoretical part will be held on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 June at the HILTON Hotel.
Today, we know that the HPV infection constitutes a necessary and essential precondition for the development of cancer not only in the cervix of the uterus but also in other anatomic areas of the female lower genital system such as the vagina, the vulva and the anus.
According to the Chairman of the Seminar’s Organizing Committee and Chairman of IASO’s Scientific Board, Professor Emmanouil Diakomanolis, emphasis will be placed on the treatment of pre-cancerous lesions and the prevention of cervical cancer. This ‘hands-on’ practice to be held at IASO will include small teams of medical practitioners and has been designed in such a way as to be interactive with the instructors and deliver the best outcome possible. This scientific event has been specifically planned in order to help the trainee clinician in the management and treatment of special clinical problems.
The annually held European Seminar of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology is now a point of reference in Greece and is certified by the European Federation for Colposcopy (EFC) and the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP), and is under the auspices of the Hellenic Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (HSCCP).
