Free of charge cardiac check-up to children at the Pediatric Clinic of IASO Children’s Hospital
Prompted by the World Day of Congenital Heart Diseases (14/02), the Pediatric Clinic of IASO Children’s Hospital offers free of charge cardiac check-ups to children.
The check-up includes: Electrocardiography, Cardiac Triplex and Cardiac examinations. All examinations shall be performed from Tuesday 18 February to Thursday 20 February 2014 and are subject to appointments booked by phone (+30 210 63 83 504) from Friday 14/02 to Monday 17/02/2014, 10.00 to 18.00. The number of appointments is limited and you must produce your child’s health record booklet issued by the competent insurance provider.
The prevalence of Congenital Heart Diseases reaches 0.8-1.2% on a global scale whereas in Greece, 1,000 infants are born every year with congenital heart defects. It is estimated that 40,000 to 50,000 adolescents suffer from this disease. Early diagnosis, applicable surgical treatment and medication and regular monitoring in specialist centers are factors providing better quality of life to these patients.
Within the scope of addressing these conditions, IASO Children’s Hospital recently established two new medical Departments, Pediatric cardiac-surgery and Pediatric cardiology, which aspire to become a point of reference in our country by providing specialist healthcare services, emphasizing in congenital heart defects. These new Departments have been staffed with highly trained and experienced medical and nursing staff and are equipped with the most sophisticated technology, thus proving once more in practice, that IASO Group is totally devoted to the care of the mother and the child. To date, a significant number of cardiology and cardiac-surgery cases have been successfully treated.
