IASO Group and WWF Greece: Strategic Partnership to ensure a healthy planet for future generations

Having as a goal the creation of a future where man and nature will coexist in harmony, a strategically important collaboration is inaugurated today between IASO Group’s integrated Corporate Responsibility program "By Your Side" and the environmental organization WWF Greece. The two bodies join their forces, having as a common vision a living planet that will guarantee health, prosperity and safety for its citizens today, but also for future generations.

The main purpose of this collaboration is the development of an active group of families having their children and their future as a key point of reference, which are informed, sensitized about modern environmental challenges and take action, by adopting a more responsible lifestyle. In this "journey" they will not be alone. WWF Greece will be by their side, substantially supporting them, answering all their questions and offering them practical and sustainable solutions. Respectively, IASO Group will stand by these families and WWF, actively supporting their efforts to raise an environmental awareness in the next generations of citizens, which will be able to contribute to the restoration of the environmental balance and ultimately to the creation of a healthy planet.

In this rapidly changing world, no one can remain idle. In this context, the two organizations will work closely together in the coming months, laying the foundations for the development of an active family community, which will claim a better and more sustainable world for our children, with the substantial support of IASO Group and WWF.

IASO supports the “ORAMA ELPIDAS” Association and becomes a Registration Center for Volunteer Bone Marrow Donors

In the context of commencing their official partnership, IASO and the “ORAMA ELPIDAS” Association inaugurated today the new Registration Center for Volunteer Bone Marrow Donors. At the same time, IASO, apart from the establishment of the new Registration Center for Volunteer Bone Marrow Donors, announced the expansion of its partnership with the “ORAMA ELPIDAS” Association by donating part of its proceeds from every childbirth taking place in IASO Clinic to support the Volunteer Bone Marrow Donor Bank, “ORAMA ELPIDAS”. Both these new initiatives are part of IASO Group’s Corporate Responsibility Program, “By Your Side”, through which IASO Group constantly supports vulnerable groups and significant actions undertaken by Associations and NGOs, by providing high-quality medical services.

The aim of the new Registration Center for Volunteer Bone Marrow Donors at IASO is to find bone marrow donors for the purpose of performing transplants in children and adults suffering from severe diseases, such as leukemia, aplastic anemia, thalassemia. In this way, these patients are offered hope in life, as transplant is the only treatment method for these diseases.

IASO’s Registration Center for Volunteer Bone Marrow Donors will significantly contribute in addressing the problem of finding donors. In Greece, the number of Volunteer Bone Marrow Donors is small, and so the main search for volunteers, in case there is no compatible donor within a patient’s family, is conducted in foreign countries. At the same time, public information and awareness on bone marrow transplant and, above all, the great importance of raising the number of volunteer donors in our country will be raised through the Center.

Collaboration with Symplefsi

The comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility program "By Your Side" and IASO General Clinic participated, having a notable presence.

In particular:

Diaplous 2021: IASO Group stood alongside Symplefsi for the realization of Diaplous 2021, from Thursday, May 13th to Sunday, May 23rd, 2021. We stood by their side, with IASO’s medical team, in Sikinos, Heraklia, Astypalaia, Nisyros, Fourni, Thymaina, Levitha, Kinaros and Donoussa, in order to offer residents specialized medical examinations. free-of-charge. We carried the atmosphere from every island, with the help of IASO Group’s doctors, Mr. Dimitris Dardamanis, MD, M.Sc., General Surgeon, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, IASO Hospital; Mr. Nikos Karamalikis, Obstetrician/Gynecologist, IASO Assosiate; Ms. Evdokia Papacharalampous, Pediatric Ophthalmologist, Scientific Associate of the Ophthalmology Department of IASO Children's Hospital. During the Diaplous, 280 checkups and 80 Pap smears were performed on the inhabitants of the islands, which were analyzed in the Central Laboratories and the Cytology Department of IASO.
Autumn Mission 2021: In the context of IASO Group’s collaboration with Symplefsis, through the “By Your Side” program, the annual Autumn Mission took place on Agios Efstratios island, between October 1st and 3rd, 2021. IASO provided blood tests and took cervical swab samples, aiming at performing their analysis at IASO’s Central Laboratories and Cytology Department. Specifically, it offered the analysis for 100 checkups, 50 thyroid screening tests and 30 Pap smears, free of charge. IASO General Clinic and IASO Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility program "By Your Side" joined Symplefsi in its valuable work for the second consecutive year, aiming at providing high-quality healthcare services to the residents of the Greek remote islands.

With 11 inflatable boats, the 2022 Diaplous took place on seven remote and isolated islands (Sikinos, Kasos, Tilos, Pserimos, Amorgos, Schinoussa, Heraklia) from Thursday, May 5th to Sunday, May 15th, 2022, and offered to the residents free-of-charge specialized medical tests by volunteer doctors, nurses and specialized paramedical personnel.

IASO General Clinic provided blood tests and took cervical swab samples in order to perform their analysis at IASO’s Central Laboratories and Cytology Department. Specifically, it offered the analysis for 250 checkups and 25 Pap smears, free of charge. The following doctors of IASO Group participated voluntarily in the medical team of the Diaplous: Mr. Dimitris Dardamanis, MD, M.Sc., General Surgeon, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, IASO General Clinic; Mr. Nikos Karamalikis, Obstetrician/Gynecologist, IASO Assosiate & Ms. Evdokia Papacharalampous, Pediatric Ophthalmologist, Scientific Associate of the Ophthalmology Department of IASO Children's Hospital. Moreover, a large lipoma of the left submandibular space was removed by the vascular surgeon and Mr. Dimitris Dardamanis, MD, M.Sc., General Surgeon, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, IASO General Clinic!

At the same time, IASO Children’s Hospital visited Amorgos mentally, in order to be next to as many children as possible! We met 55 children from the Primary school and the Kindergarten of Chora and Katapola of Amorgos. Ms. Maroussa, Principal of the Primary School in Katapola, together with the teachers, Mses. Sophia, Kely, Anna, Andromachi and Maria from the kindergarten and Mses. Thalia, Principal of the Primary School in Chora of Amorgos, Moscha and Eleni, together with the young students, organized a warm reception in the schoolyards and we expressed our commitment, as IASO Group, to always stand by their side. Finally, we met with Ms. Fofi, the Principal of the Primary School in Agiali of Amorgos in person, who we are already collaborating with, so that we may support the students’ families, in every way.

Autumn Mission 2022

IASO General Clinic and IASO Group’s "By Your Side" program joined Symplefsi in its Autumn Mission. The team visited Ereikoussa and Othonoi and offered free-of-charge medical examinations and checkups to the residents of the Diapontia Islands.

IASO General Clinic provided blood tests for the purpose of carrying out the analyses at IASO Hospital’s Central Laboratories and Cytology Department. In particular, it offered 150 free-of-charge checkups (complete blood count, urea, glucose, creatinine, cholesterol, triglycerides, SGOT, SGPT, iron, ferritin, PSA, TSH, FT4, FT3) and 50 free-of-charge Pap smears.

Diaplous 2023

IASO General Clinic, as part of IASO Group's "By Your Side" Corporate Social Responsibility program, joined Symplefsi, for the 3rd consecutive year, in its valuable voluntary work for the residents of the Greek remote islands.

Aiming at providing high-quality healthcare services, more than 80 volunteer doctors & health professionals visited the islands of Sikinos, Donousa, Arki, Leipsoi, Agathonisi, Thymaina, Fournoi, Ikaria from Thursday, April 27th to Friday, May 5th, 2023, and offered free-of-charge medical examinations to the residents.

Autumn Mission 2023

IASO General Clinic and IASO Group’s ‘’By your Side’’ comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility program, supporting Symplefsi with its Automn Mission, visited for the first time the historic island of Psara from Friday, November 10th to Sunday, November 12th, 2023. The team offered free medical examinations and preventive check-ups to the residents of the island.

IASO General Clinic provided blood tests and cervical smear samplings for the purpose of carrying out the analyses at IASO Hospital’s Central Laboratories and Cytology Department. It offered 70 free-of-charge checkups (complete blood count, urea, glucose, creatinine, cholesterol, triglycerides, SGOT, SGPT, iron, ferritin, PSA, TSH, FT4, FT3 & cancer markers) and 15 free-of-charge Pap smears.

IASO Group's "By your Side" program stood by the side of Symplefsi’s anniversary diaplous for its 10 years of offering to the Greek remote islands, from Thursday, April 18th to Sunday, April 28th, 2024, supporting the residents of Iraklia, Sikinos, Halki, Tilos, Nisyros, Pserimos, Telendos & Donousa, offering free analysis for preventive blood tests and Pap smears.

Collaboration with Aegean Team

IASO Group's Corporate Social Responsibility program "By Your Side" and IASO General Clinic support Aegean Team’s medical missions.

Specifically:

30th Anniversary Crossing 2024: For the first time, IASO Group joined the Aegean Team to assist in their valuable work, providing quality health services to improve living conditions and enhance the quality of life for residents of remote islands. The 30th Anniversary Crossing 2024 took place from Thursday, May 16th, to Sunday, May 26th, 2024, covering nine remote and isolated islands (Fournoi, Thymaina, Agathonisi, Arkioi, Lipsi, Patmos, Kinaros, Sikinos, and Koufonisia), where free specialized medical examinations were offered to residents by volunteer doctors and specialized paramedical staff.

IASO General Clinic provided blood draws and biopsies for analysis by the Central Laboratories and the Pathology Laboratory of IASO General Clinic. In total, it offered 250 free blood tests and 50 free histological examinations.

Winter Mission 2024

The partnership between IASO Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility program “By Your Side” and the Aegean Team forges ahead with the Winter Mission that took place on the island of Kasos, from Thursday, October 17th, to Sunday, October 20th, 2024.

IASO General Clinic provided blood draws, biopsies, and cervical smear samplings for analysis by the Central Laboratories, the Pathology Department, and the Cytology Department of IASO General Clinic.

In total, it offered 150 free blood draws, 40 free histological examinations, and 50 free Pap smears.

From IASO Group, Ms. Myrto Kouvatsou, Central Laboratory Technologist, IASO General Clinic, participated in the mission.

Collaboration between IASO Group and “E.M.E.I.S.”

IASO Group and E.M.E.I.S. (Scientific Society of Mastology – Treatment and Support) joined forces for the women of the Open Refugee Accommodation Structure in Eleonas, Attica. The volunteer doctors of E.M.E.I.S. performed clinical examinations (breast palpation) and breast ultrasounds on more than 60 women. In addition, as part of IASO Group's "By Your Side" Corporate Social Responsibility program, IASO offered all the necessary medical equipment for the examinations, as well as the reinforcement of the Structure’s clinic. Finally, IASO Children’s Hospital offered toys and stationery to the children of the Structure.

Partnership between IASO and “The Smile of the Child”

IASO Group’s "By Your Side" program and the “Smile of the Child” extend their collaboration, giving away big and healthy smiles to all children.

IASO Group continues to stand by the side of 8,000 little friends with kindness and friendliness, with interest and attention, with professionalism, with devotion and care, with dignity and with respect to their special needs. By signing the extension of the partnership, IASO Group will actively participate in the Preventive Medicine Program of "The Smile of the Child" Association, carrying out free-of-charge medical consultations, examinations and checkups for the children. In addition, IASO Children’s Hospital will provide pediatric specialties and subspecialties to the Social Polyclinics, for the provision of personnel for the services and the actions of the Association.

On the occasion of the celebration of IASO's 20 years of operation, IASO stood by the side and financially supported "The Smile of a Child" through the platform www.myiasomoments.gr or with the hashtag #myiasomoments via Twitter and Instagram. All couples who wanted to share the first unique moments with their baby inside IASO Hospital could upload photos to the platform, offering €1 to the organization "The Smile of a Child" for each photo.

Partnership with Hellenic Olympic Winners Association

The Olympic Winners and the Association’s officials have now gained access to high-quality healthcare services in order to effectively meet their needs. Through this new partnership, the Hellenic Olympic Winners Association shall be a provider of aid and support and a co-organizer alongside IASO Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program “By Your Side” for the realization of health and social awareness promotional actions addressed to the general public.
