We would like to inform you that IASO’s Urogynaecology and Pelvic Floor Reconstructive Surgery Centre, in collaboration with the 3rd Obstetrics – Gynaecology Clinic of the General University Hospital “ATTIKON”, is organizing the Scientific One-Day Conference on the topic: "1st Urogynaecology Meet the Experts Symposium" on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, at IASO Hospital’s Event Hall.

The Chairs of the Organizing Committee are: Mr. Alexandros K. Derpapas, MD, PhD, Obstetrician – Gynaecologist, Urogynaecologist – Pelvic Floor Surgeon (RCOG), Director, Urogynaecology and Pelvic Floor Reconstructive Surgery Centre, IASO, and Mr. Dimos F. Sioutis, MD, MSc, PhD, Obstetrician – Gynaecologist, Director, Urogynaecology and Pelvic Floor Reconstructive Surgery Centre, IASO.

Urogynaecology and Pelvic Floor Surgery is a subspecialty of Obstetrics - Gynaecology that addresses a wide range of pelvic floor disorders of great scientific interest, but, at the same time, with great diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Conditions such as urinary and fecal incontinence in women, pelvic organ prolapse, recurrent urinary tract infections and clinical syndromes of the lower genitourinary tract, concern a significant portion of the female population of all ages, impacting their physical and mental health severely and significantly degrading their quality of life. The interdisciplinary approach to the urogynaecological patient by urogynaecologists, urologists, gastrointestinal surgeons, radiologists, infectious disease specialists and other experts is the only way to effectively treat complex anatomical and functional disorders of the pelvic floor.

The conference will present the latest developments in medical research and modern treatments for pelvic floor disorders, so as to inform and strengthen the collaboration between health professionals. The Scientific Committee of the conference has prepared a rich program of lectures by renowned scientists in the field of urogynaecology, both from Greece and abroad, as well as surgical procedures, which the attendees will be able to watch live from IASO’s operating rooms, aiming for an interactive scientific meeting.
