One-Day Conference on the "New insights in vaccination"
GENERALThe Internal Medicine - Infectious Disease Clinic of IASO General Clinic is organizing a One-Day Conference on the "New insights in vaccination", which will take place on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 9:30 a.m., at IASO Hospital’s Event Hall.
Over the centuries, vaccines have proven their important contribution to the prevention of infectious diseases. The disappearance of smallpox and poliomyelitis, mainly in developed countries, are some characteristic examples. Their latest achievement is the decrease of cervical cancer, following the universal use of the HPV vaccine.
The purpose of the one-day conference is to present the latest vaccines to population groups such as children, adults, pregnant and lactating women, people with neoplastic diseases and those who are immunosuppressed in general. At the same time, the financial benefits in preventive medicine and which derive from the universal use of vaccines will be presented. The conference is addressed not only to doctors of the specialties mentioned above, but also to all personnel providing public health care.
Alternate Minister of Health, Ms. Eirini Agapidaki, will give the conference’s welcome speech and Mr. Christos Hadjichristodoulou, NPHO President, will provide an analysis of the conclusions.
Mr. Marios K. Lazanas, Internist - Infectious Disease Specialist, Director of the Internal Medicine - Infectious Disease Clinic of IASO General Clinic, Chairman of IASO Group’s Infection Control Committee, will serve as moderator.
