The Laparoscopic Unit of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery of the 2^nd Surgery Clinic, under the direction of Assoc. Prof. Konstantinos Albanopoulos, is organizing a scientific one-day conference entitled: "No more dilemmas: Metabolic/Bariatric Surgery", on Saturday, March 18th, 2023, at IASO Hospital’s Events Hall.

IASO’s laparoscopic bariatric and metabolic surgery unit has been in operation for the last 1.5 year and is already under evaluation by the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO) for its certification as a Center of Excellence (Center Of Excellence under evaluation).

The purpose of the conference is to approach the problem of bariatric patient management by doctors of different specialties, based on modern medical data (evidence-based medicine).

Distinguished and experienced speakers will analyze the problems they face in daily clinical practice, in the diagnostic and therapeutic approach of obese patients. In the second part, the speakers and the audience will raise their concerns regarding the management of actual incidents, through a fruitful conversation and debate.

The conference is addressed to doctors of all specialties, nurses, Medical and Nursing students, but also to the general public. It will take place with attendance in person and there is no cost to attend.

Alternate Minister of Health Asimina Gaga will give the conference’s welcome speech.
